Why I Pray Catholic Prayers and Veil
Hello! Welcome back! If you’ve read my previous post, you would know that I veil and pray catholic prayers, however, I am not catholic. In fact, I consider myself quite protestant and almost a southern baptist. I actually don’t agree with a lot of catholic theology, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me and most of it isn’t really biblical.
So, here’s the reason why I do these things and it’s honestly quite simple. It brings me closer to God.
By praying catholic prayers and veiling, I am consciously brought into the presence of God. This allows me to be fully immersed in my time with Him.
Sure, I don’t believe in a lot of catholic theology, however I do believe that Mary can intercede on our behalf to her Son, Jesus. There’s nothing in the bible that says that she can’t. I don’t worship her and I don’t pray to any other saints (yet, I do worship Celtic gods and goddesses, which I will explain in a later post).
Mary was righteous in the eyes of God and the only way that we can be righteous is through Jesus Christ. He died for our sins and washed them away. Through His resurrection, He defeated death and now sits at the right hand of His Father, God. Mary believed in her savior, therefore she was righteous. She fulfilled her duty as a woman of God and bore His son, who would one day save the world from death and sin.
Although this was short, I hope you can see my reasoning for taking part in catholic traditions as a protestant.
